We met five years ago on a trip to Italy, became fast friends, and spent our one-year anniversary in Kaua'i and Hawai'i. Every four to six week since we met those five years ago we have set aside time to hang out, catch up, potluck, tarot, laugh, cry, support each other, and lovingly call each other's bluffs. For our fifth anniversary we are gathered in North Carolina enjoying a lazy week on the beach.Let me just tell you, if you're ever in the market for a weekly beach house rental, look no further than my friend Kris. She has impeccable taste, is a ferocious researcher, and found the most amazing beach house for us. Lounging about in our Parade of Homes winner, as we listen to the ocean waves lapping the shore outside our patio doors, we cannot. stop. commenting. that we've offically lost ourselves in an issue of Martha Stewart Living. From the pale blue and cream color palate, to the beadboard walls, from the hardwood floors and three separate patios, to the shutters and window boxes full of flowers - it could not be more picturesque.
